FAQ’s

Q. What’s included with the player registration fees?

A. This varies from between the spring and fall season. For accurate information on this please refer to the opening announcement. However, typically fall season includes a jersey, hat, socks, while spring season includes the same items and adds the pants.

 

Q. What equipment do I have to purchase?

A. Each player must have their own approved baseball bat, baseball glove, helmet, and any other equipment you want them to use. We do suggest having a baseball bag to keep all of your equipment in and label all of your child’s equipment with their names.


Q. What’s an approved baseball bat?

A. Only baseball bats stamped with the USA stamp is approved. Also, for t-ball it must be stamped t-ball on it as well. When the player moves up in division from t-ball a new baseball bat must be purchased as t-ball bats are not allowed to be used in upper divisions. Q. How do I choose the correct size equipment?

A. While there are different websites you can use to find out how to choose below are links to Little League videos on how to choose the equipment.

Q. Where are practices and games played?

A. Home games or practices are typically held at one of the following locations:

Q. What is T-Ball?  Who is eligible?

A. Tee Ball Baseball is for players 4-6 years old who want to learn the fundamentals of hitting and fielding. In Tee Ball, players hit a ball off a batting tee. Rules of the game may be varied to accommodate the need for teaching. The primary goals of Tee Ball are to have fun, to instruct children in the fundamentals of baseball and to allow them to experience the value of teamwork.


Q. What is Coach Pitch? Who is eligible?

A. The Coach Pitch Division is for 6 - 8 yrs. old. Players learn the timing of hitting a baseball while also improving their base running and fielding skills. More emphasis is put on learning game situations than winning.


Q. What is the Minors Division? Who is eligible?

A. Minors Division is for players aged 8 - 11 yrs. old and is the first level of kid pitch baseball on the 60 ft. baseball diamond. Players learn the fundamentals of pitching, stealing and cutoffs while playing in game situations. More emphasis is placed on the rules of the game, but fundamentals are still taught and practiced. This division is competitive, and scores are kept, as well as overall team records. The goal of the Minor league program is to prepare children for eventual selection to a Major Division team. There is a playoff at the end of the season for the minors division.


Q. What is the Majors Division? Who is eligible?

A. Majors Division is for players aged 9 - 12 yrs. old. Players learn advanced fundamentals while in a competitive environment. Players improve on their pitching, catching, and fielding abilities while gaining more knowledge on the mental aspects of baseball. Emphasis is placed on playing as a team, and what each position needs to do to accomplish a team victory. Majors is more competitive than minors and scores and records are kept throughout the season.

   
Q.  What is the Intermediate Division? Who is eligible?
 

A. Intermediate (50/70) division is a new competitive level division of Little League Baseball for players league-age 11-13 that offers a transition for players between the standard Little League field size (46-foot pitching distance and 60-foot base paths)


Q. When are games and practices?

A. During the season and before games start practices usually occur two times a week and when the games start, usually you have a practice and a game a week. Days and times vary based on field availability. Your manager will be advised of the schedule, and they will give it to you.

 

Q. Can I choose the team my player is on?

A. During the spring season each player is chosen during a draft by the team’s manager. This is why evaluations are important to attend. During the spring season teams are assigned based on known talent and prior experience.
